The story about Avenue Fashions is not new. It began, as do most businesses, with an idea, talent, and love. It began small, and with energy and destination. It began with Florence (called the lady with golden hands) who, like an artist with her color palette and a sculptor with her chisel, formed and shaped her dream. She was known as the lady with the golden hands because of her dedication to the perfect fit for each and every customer. Florence went to great lengths to provide her clients with the time and attention to detail that every woman deserves and appreciates. This philosophy and commitment was the hallmark of Florence’s business that was rewarded with a loyal following and many years of success. Her daughter, Sandy, keeps this tradition alive and well in downtown Deerfield, providing each and every woman who enters her store, the kind of attention and caring that Florence’s legacy demands. Sandy is very proud of her ability to carry on her mother’s legacy and welcomes you to experience the Avenue Fashions difference during your next visit! For years, along Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago and at the Lincolnwood location, Florence’s loyal following came from far and wide to experience her expertise as a custom dressmaker and designer with impeccable taste for fashion. Her motto was, “If you’re in tune with the times, you’re in style.” Clients appreciated this lost art.
